Description

Richard Harrington, OC, was a Canadian photographer. He is best known for his photographs taken in the Canadian Arctic between 1948 and 1953. Born in Hamburg, Germany, he immigrated to Canada in the mid-1920s.

Richard Harrington was the only Canadian photographer included into Edward Steichen’s Family of Man exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, 1951. The first photography exhibition at MoMA.
